Sustainability
Accelerated Carbonation Technology (ACT) as a technique for the treatment of contaminated wastes can offer substantial carbon savings in when compared to current disposal methods. Where possible, Carbon8 Contracting carry out ACT treatment in an on-site carbonation plant, with a view to the production of new construction materials from the treated waste. This approach allows us to maximise the amount of carbon savings available for each client. Carbon savings as a result of ACT treatment can be achieved via the following:
• Re-cycling of waste into new construction materials;
• Reduction in landfill void usage;
• Reduction in transport to landfill;
• Reduction in the use of virgin construction materials;
• Sequestration of CO2
Where possible, CO2 can be captured from on-site waste sources, further increasing our clients’ carbon saving opportunities.
On all projects, Carbon8 Contracting aim to maximise carbon savings such that they can be passed down to the client.
